Learning

At the center of what we stand for, engaging the mind

We believe that children are born designed to learn. Their brains are ready to form new synapses, eager to make connections. Because of this , our approach here at Head and Heart Childcare is one of learning in every part of the day, for every child of all ages. This includes a focused period of time where children will be taught lessons and  participate in group activities. For this time of learning, the children will be divided into two separate groups. The older group, kids in their fourth year, have their learning time first in the morning. After morning snack, the younger group, ages 2-3 years old, will have their learning time. We keep these segments short and incorporate lots of games and fun learning techniques.

Our Goal

Children love to have fun! And, not surprisingly, studies show that they make quicker connections and remember more efficiently when they are having a good time. Learning at Head and Heart Childcare is full of songs, games, crafts and play. There are times where the children will be doing activities as a group, but also an amount of time allotted so that each child can be guided on their own as they discover and explore new concepts and practice ones already familiar to them. We understand that each child learns at their own speed and seek to meet them where they are at in their learning experience.
